Why Am I Learning To Write Good Content

I am learning how to write good content in order to get more visitors to my blog.

First I need to know what do people want. Why, because I want to deliver good content and something of value to my visitors.

I googled the question “what do people want” and the top article on page 1 is from the Huffington Post. The answer runs the gambit from Happiness to Passion. Then the rest of the articles going down the page are all about the products people want.

This is not what I am looking for as a reason to attract visitors to my blog so I can eventually sell them a product they are interested in purchasing.

It is what I, myself is passionate about. Maybe I love gardening or motorcycles. If I want to make my passion for motorcycles into a niche to attract other people that are passionate about motorcycles by writing a blog. My passion will shine through in my content in that blog.

What is the reason I am learning to write good content in the first place?

1. The most important reason is I will eventually introduce a product that I am selling.
2. Google loves content, that is one of the leading ways they index your website, blog etc.
3. If you learn how to write good content you will be able to write a sales page for your product or maybe a review.
4. Good content attracts other blogs with content that you can build a relationship with.
5. You also build relationships with your visitors with your content and they may like you well enough to buy your product.

I had a “lightbulb moment” when I realized that if you keep on putting out ideas and products that eventually a person that wants the product or likes the idea will fall into your proverbial lap so to say. That to me sounds like it would take time to attract just the right person.

I think there’s a lot more to it then writing good content. People need to know who you are.

Write a profile about yourself. Tell them where you come from, how you got into affiliate marketing. If you are doing well enough to pay your bills and have some left over.

Be honest when it comes to the products you are promoting. Do you use them yourself? Ideally, that’s what you should be doing. Unfortunately, you do not use them yourself because a lot of the products are not within your budget to buy. It would be nice if the vendor of that product would let his affiliates have a test run.

Good content will help you create an audience that first likes to read your stuff then they just may want to buy the product you are promoting. The reason I was so adamant about being honest about what you are promoting is your audience will see right thru your article or sales page and see the bull****. They will lose respect for you and probably drop you like a lead balloon.

Good content is your calling card to your visitors. Make sure you know what kind of visitors you have your content pointed to. In my case, it is the newbies of the affiliate marketing world.

Conclusion:  I try to write blog posts that attract visitors that will eventually become my subscribers and customers.  If you are interested in making money this is the goal you should have in mind when you are writing articles.

Disclosure: The content of this post is my ideas, I do not try to emulate anybody else. If I use somebody else’s material I will add the link and author in the post.

Disclosure: Bear in mind that some of the links in this post are affiliate links and if you go through them to make a purchase I will earn a commission. Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.
